The maple pig cupcakery client terms & conditions

All products made by The Maple Pig Cupcakery and purchased by private clients are subject to the following Terms & Conditions.  

Please read below.

INGREDIENTS & ALLERGENS

The Maple Pig Cupcakery is not a nut-free or gluten-free bakery. All cakes, cupcakes, fillings, icings and other desserts may contain, or come into contact with, soy, wheat, dairy, nuts or other allergens.  If I am made aware of your allergy, I will try my best to accommodate your needs request.  By making a purchase, you understand and agree to the above written statement. 


It is the responsibility of the Client to inform The Maple Pig Cupcakery prior to the confirmation of their booking, of any allergy/ intolerance issues. It is the responsibility of the Client to inform their guests of all allergy/intolerance information. The Maple Pig Cupcakery will not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from consumption of your dessert after agreeing to the terms & conditions regarding ingredients and allergens.


All products are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration and are best eaten at room temperature. Because most of my cakes, cupcakes and buttercream is made with fresh butter, it may take 2-3 hours for your cake to come to room temperature. Please plan delivery time and cake storage accordingly.

CAKE QUOTES

All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. In the event that the desired date has been filled by another order /client, prior to the Client confirming the booking by paying the 50% deposit or payment in full, The Maple Pig Cupcakery is not obliged to honor the quote.


 **All quotes are NOT bookings and are subject to availability.

ORDERS

At The Maple Pig Cupcakery, I prefer at least two to three (2-3) weeks notice for all cake orders and at least one (1) week notice on cupcake orders, as I am continually booked in advance.   However, because I am a small, in-home operation, I only take a few orders each day and due to this I do book very quickly, often at least a month or two in advance.  Please ensure that you have viewed my availability calendar before completing the inquiry form.


Any products ordered from a picture or photo, of a product produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced by The Maple Pig Cupcakery as my interpretation of that product and will NOT be an exact reproduction of the product in the picture or photo. Certain creative changes may be made to your final design for the sake of stability and structural integrity.  Also, cakes that have been specifically produced by The Maple Pig Cupcakery in their reproduction may not always look the exact same as often times there may be limited availability on specific decor for each cake.  I will ensure to make your cake to your desired specifications as best as I can.


Design changes to the order may be made until 1 week prior to event.  After this time any change requests cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.

SERVING SIZES

Cake serving sizes are estimated. Specialty cakes and the method of slicing may affect ultimate serving number. The Client understands and accepts these terms, and must order their products accordingly after having considered these variables.

PAYMENTS, DEPOSITS & FINAL PAYMENTS

Invoices are emailed using Square which is a secure, e-commerce payment processing site that many businesses use.  When you place your order and the order is confirmed, an invoice will be emailed to you for payment.  Payment occurs directly within the email and due immediately upon receipt of your invoice.


Payment in full is preferred, however for orders over $100.00 (and less under certain circumstances), A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of 50% or payment in full can be discussed in order to hold your date at the time your order is placed.   This will not be automatically offered, you must request this during your order.  Your order is not confirmed until the deposit is paid or payment in full is received. If payment is not received within 24 hours of receiving your emailed invoice, the order will be cancelled for non-payment unless you have made contact with The Maple Pig Cupcakery prior to the 24 hour timeframe ending.  The Maple Pig Cupcakery is not liable if another order is booked over the requested date if payment is not made to reserve your date. 


For celebration cakes or cupcakes, the balance of an agreed upon partial payment is due 1 week before the event date. For wedding cakes and large event cakes or cupcakes the balance is due two weeks prior to the wedding or event.


Where The Maple Pig Cupcakery has delivered a product that is an accurate interpretation of what has been quoted and invoiced, but the Client does not accept the finished Product, the deposit WILL NOT be refunded. The Client can choose to pay the remainder and take the Product/s, or leave them at no extra cost.

POSTPONEMENT, UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES & INCLEMENT WEATHER 

If, for any reason the event is required to be postponed, please contact me immediately. The new date proposed will be subject to availability.


If The Maple Pig Cupcakery cancels the booking due to illness or any other unforeseen circumstance that affects the ability to deliver the ordered Product, the deposit will be refunded within seven to fourteen (7 to 14) days of notification to the Client. 


In the event of inclement weather, The Maple Pig Cupcakery will make every attempt to contact the client regarding their order to decide the next best steps in the safety of the The Maple Pig Cupcakery and the client.  If the client wishes to cancel, postpone or reschedule their order due to inclement weather, the client must contact The Maple Pig Cupcakery three (3) days in advance to make necessary changes and to discuss credit options.  No refunds will be given for any orders, however a store credit memo will be issued to the client for later use.

DELIVERY & PICKUP

Deliveries will no longer be available after October 1st, 2020.  Delivery will however be offered for orders over $100.00 that will all be delivered on the same day.  Multiple orders placed on the same day with different pick up dates does not count towards the $100.00 delivery offer.  


All deliveries and pickups will be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner. Once an order is delivered or picked up, and the change of hands has been completed with the product in appropriate condition, it is then up to the Client to store and care for the cake as per The Maple Pig Cupcakery instructions. If anything is to happen to the cake after this exchange, and deemed to be fault of the Client through not following the instructions provided, The Maple Pig Cupcakery is not liable for any damages. The Maple Pig Cupcakery is not liable for damage due to client negligence or improper handling once the product has been picked up or delivered.


Pick Up and Delivery dates and times will be agreed by both parties before the order is confirmed.  For deliveries, if the Client is not at location at this time and date, and The Maple Pig Cupcakery is not able to contact the Client, the product will be transported back with The Maple Pig Cupcakery and it will be the Client’s responsibility to collect the product at a time that suits the owner.  For pick-ups, the client may only arrive during the scheduled time unless otherwise agreed upon to minimize traffic and for the safety of myself and each client.  If you are running later than 5 minutes, please give me a call to let me know.


TRANSPORTING & STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS AFTER PICK UP/DELIVERY

Depending on the weather as well as the ingredients of each dessert, most cakes are chilled prior to delivery for ease of transport and for safety of food consumption.  If you plan on eating your dessert immediately, please notify The Maple Pig Cupcakery at the time you place your order to ensure that your cake will be ready to eat.  If, not please allow at least 2-3 hours for your dessert to reach room temperature before cutting and serving for best taste.


When transporting your dessert, please place on a sturdy, flat and level surface where the box will not slide.  A recommended suggestion is the floorboard of your car.  Please drive carefully when transporting your dessert.  While each dessert is prepared to remain as stable as possible, cakes and cupcakes are very delicate and need careful handling to ensure they arrive in the best condition.  DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DESSERT IN A HOT CAR!!  The Maple Pig Cupcakery uses butter as a base to the buttercream and it will melt, causing your dessert to slide or your decorations to run.  The Maple Pig Cupcakery is not liable for the condition of the cake if the client fails to follow the transporting instructions.  


When you arrive at your destination, if you cake or cupcake has any type of filling that is cream/milk based, please keep chilled unless you plan to serve immediately.  If your cake or cupcakes does not have any cream/milk based filling, the dessert is safe to remain at room temperature for up to 3 days in a covered container.  Anytime beyond, it is recommended that you properly wrap cake slices or cupcakes individually and put in the freezer or fridge for later consumption.  

EXCLUSIVITY

The Maple Pig Cupcakery must be advised at the time of initial consultation if the client wishes to provide baked goods from other providers. In order to ensure our integrity, no other cake or dessert shall be provided by any person/businesses other than The Maple Pig Cupcakery unless previously agreed on by The Maple Pig Cupcakery. Any other edible items not provided by The Maple Pig Cupcakery, when present at your event, must be displayed on a separate table from the items provided by The Maple Pig Cupcakery to limit liability and assumption of origin.

RENTED EQUIPMENT

Deposits are taken for all rented equipment. All equipment must be returned on the agreed date or extra charges will be incurred to cover any additional costs. Any damages to equipment will forfeit or reduce your deposit to cover costs of repair or replacement. Equipment rental price, deposit and all other charges will vary depending on which item of equipment is being hired, and in what condition and time frame it is returned by the Client.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS

If cancellation of the order is required, and you have paid your full balance, the refund policy is as follows: a) If the cancellation is up to one (1) month in advance of your event date, you will receive a refund, less your initial deposit (or 25% of the total price, if paid in full) and the cost of any supplies already purchased for your cake. b) If the cancellation is less than seven (7) days prior to your event, there will be absolutely no refunds given. c) In the event of a refund, refunds will be paid within 30 days of cancellation.


In the case of an emergency or an error in your dessert delivery, please contact me immediately so I can fix the issue right away! If you are unhappy with your dessert for any reason, please call me the day of your event and explain the situation. In the rare case that you are unhappy with your cake, you must call the day of your event so your cake can be returned within 24 hours. Without proper inspection of the cake and proof that you are indeed unhappy with the product and will not be using it for your event, I will be unable to refund any portion of your payment.
